A strong communicator, Sara Kim has a passion for working with people. As a journalism student at Ithaca College’s Roy H. Park School of Communications, she explored a wide range of academic and social interests and double minored in health policy and management and Asian American studies. A former general assignment reporter for Ithaca College Television, Sara has also worked in various editorial positions for The Ithacan, including serving as Online News Editor.
As the former president of the Ithaca College Society of Professional Journalists, she oversaw all programming and worked with the executive board to plan bi-weekly programs with speakers and guests. This past May, she completed her term as president of the IC Asian American Alliance, where she facilitated discussions and interactive programs and collaborated with the rest of the executive board to coordinate weekly events. She continues to serve as webmaster and marketing and community outreach member for the Ithaca Pan Asian American Film Festival, where her responsibilities include maintaining all facets of the website and building community relations to garner support for the film festival. Through her role with the IC Asian American Alliance and the film festival, Sara became a fundraiser, event coordinator and marketer.
Sara continues to grow into a marketing and communications professional with her voluntary work on the national board of the East Coast Asian American Student Union, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit . This past spring, she assumed the position of Special Events Coordinator.
Sara hopes to pursue a career interacting with people through social media, community outreach and events management. An avid social media user and a pop culture junkie, Sara can also be found on Twitter, Pinterest, and LinkedIn.
